The CRH1 is a high-speed electric train in the People's Republic of China . CRH is short for China Railway High-speed .

So far, three variants have been procured. The CRH1A and CRH1B series are based on the Regina series from Bombardier Transportation with the designation Regina C2008. The CRH1E is based on the Bombardier Zefiro platform .

In mid-July 2010, the Chinese Ministry of Railways ordered 40 more CRH1 trains at a total cost of 5.2 billion yuan. The trains, which can reach speeds of up to 250 km / h, will have a total of 604 seats in eight cars. The planned delivery was estimated for the period from September 2010 to May 2011.

CRH1A

Since 2007, a total of 40 eight-car trains have been produced in a Canadian-Chinese joint venture between Bombardier and Sifang Power Transportation in Qingdao in the Shandong Province . These units serve the Guangzhou - Shenzhen route in the Guangdong province at up to 200 km / h. Five of the eight cars are powered, the two end cars are set up as 1st class, and a bistro car runs in the middle.

CRH1B

Since April 2009, 20 sixteen-car trains have been in service on the Shanghai - Nanjing route. Ten cars per train are powered, three are first class and one is a bistro. The maximum speed is 250 km / h. For this purpose, a longer, more aerodynamic head was developed at Bombardier in Sweden and Germany.

CRH380D and CRH380DL

The fastest train in the Zefiro series is to go into operation from 2012. It is scheduled to travel 380 km / h, making it the fastest train in the world. In test drives it reached a speed of 483 km / h. With 20 MW, it has the highest drive power of a high-speed train. The delivery of the first series trains is planned for March 2015.

At the end of September 2009, the Chinese Ministry of Railways ordered 80 multiple units, with the order for 20 trains with 8 cars and 60 trains with 16 cars. The trains will be named CRH380D and CRH380DL .

CRH1E

The CRH1E is a sixteen-part night train with a top speed of 250 km / h, which carries sleeping cars (including luxury compartments with private bathrooms), seating cars and a bistro car. The delivery stretched from May 2009 to August 2010. The trains are scheduled to run between Shanghai and Beijing with a journey time of around 11 hours.
