The California Fuel Cell Partnership, Sacramento (California)

The CaFCP project stands for California Fuel Cell Partnership literally " fuel cell partnership California ", a collaborative enterprise by public authorities in California (USA), various car manufacturers involved in fuel cell vehicles do research, and some other interested parties such as gas station chains and US Federal agencies.

The CaFCP was founded in 1999 at the suggestion of the California Air Resources Board, together with six private companies. In 2000, it opened its headquarters in West Sacramento, California . More members followed, and in 2005 the organization had 21 full members and 11 associate members.

Under the control of the partners, 16 filling stations were equipped with hydrogen filling systems (another 15 are being planned) and, in cooperation with the automobile companies, 95 fuel cell vehicles were given road approval, which can be tested in daily practice on the roads of California. This is called the CaFCP Road Rallye for the press, literally " CaFCP road race ". At the beginning of 2006, 46 vehicles were in road service.

In December 2018, hydrogen could be refueled at 39 stations . An interactive map is available online.
