traffic

The best-known means of transport are the characteristic orange-colored ferries of Transtejo & Soflusa , which run from the port of Cacilhas to Lisbon and other places on the south bank of the Tejo .

Since November 2008, Cacilhas has also had a local rail connection. Since then, the Sul do Tejo Metro (MST) has connected Cacilhas to the main shopping streets in Almada, but also to Pragal and the science and technology faculty of the New University of Lisbon.

The Pragal train station , which is directly connected to Cacilhas via the MST, serves as the connection between the city and the Portuguese railway network .

Various local and regional bus routes complement local public transport .
