from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Calenberger Gang is a right-wing extremist group that has been active in the Hanover region since 2019 . It was particularly noticeable through graffiti. Leaflets and posters.

Members

The names and addresses of alleged members of the group were published in a post on the left-wing extremist website indymedia.org in January 2020. Patrick K. and Daniel B. were named, who were already active as neo-Nazis in the past. Both belonged to the right-wing extremist group Besseres Hannover and had repeatedly come into the focus of the authorities even after its ban. Among other things, Patrick K. was convicted of attacks on party offices and DKP members. Patrick K. is also known as a former member of the “Right Plenum”, a neo-Nazi group active in Chemnitz which, among other things, tried to create a “Nazi Kiez”.

Another alleged member of the Calenberg gang is Florian L. He is an educator in a municipal daycare center who was suspended due to his connection to the Calenberg gang. Other well-known members of indymedia.org are said to be Patrick's girlfriend, Florian's brother and probably two other unknown people. Whether these members are actually the Calenberg gang or whether there are other members has not been confirmed by the police.

Activities and investigations

Various leaflets, posters and graffiti, which can be found primarily in the Ronnenberg , Gehrden and Pattensen areas, can be clearly assigned to the Calenberger gang . However, other, more serious acts are also attributed to the group from the unofficial side. Among other things, the Calenberg gang allegedly carried out arson attacks on the front doors of a Jewish couple and a Kurdish family, as well as devastating an empty refugee accommodation.

The police investigated six cases of property damage and the use of symbols of unconstitutional organizations ( § 86a StGB ) against three members of the group. In January 2020, the Hanover public prosecutor's office had their apartments searched and, among other things, confiscated data carriers.
