Callum Watson (born October 6, 1989 in Sydney ) is an Australian cross-country skier .

Career

Watson has been participating in the Australia / New Zealand Cup since 2004 . He has had seven wins so far (as of the end of the 2017/18 season) and won the overall standings in 2010 , 2011 and 2012 . In 2013 , 2015 , 2017 and 2018 he finished second in the overall ranking. He ran his first World Cup race in December 2008 in Davos , which he finished classically with 78th place over 15 km. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Liberec in 2009 , he took 51st place in the 50 km mass start race. He finished the Tour de Ski 2010/11 in 36th place. His best results at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2011 in Oslo were 66th place over 15 km classic and 16th place with the relay. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 2013 in Val di Fiemme , he finished 67th in the skiathlon and 72nd place over 15 km freestyle. His best placings at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi were 60th place in the skiathlon and 21st place in the team sprint. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Falun in 2015 , he came 72nd in the 15 km freestyle. In February 2017, he came in 69th place in the sprint at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2017 in Lahti . His best results at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang were 58th place in the 50 km mass start race and in the skiathlon and 25th place in the team sprint with Phillip Bellingham .
