Wiz Khalifa (born September 8, 1987 in Minot, North Dakota ; real name Cameron Jibril Thomaz ) is an American rapper from Pittsburgh , Pennsylvania .

Life

In 2006 he released his debut album Show and Prove and got a record deal with Warner Bros. Records a year later . His trance-influenced single Say Yeah hit Urban Radio Airplay, Billboard Hot 100, Rhythmic Top 40 and Hot Rap Track Charts in 2008. Khalifa split from Warner Bros in 2009 and released his second album later that year Deal or no deal . In April 2010 he released his mixtape Kush and Orange Juice as a free download, which became a top trending article on Twitter and Google. In 2010 he signed a contract with Atlantic Records . and then released his famous single Black & Yellow under this new label. By "Black and Yellow" Wiz Khalifa means the main colors of the flag of Pittsburgh. A year later, his new album Rolling Papers was released , which made it to number 2 on the Billboard 200 .

On July 4, 2013, Wiz Khalifa married model Amber Rose , with whom he also has a son named Sebastian Taylor Thomaz. The civil wedding took place in Los Angeles. After just one year of marriage, Rose filed for divorce on September 21, 2014 due to her husband's affair.

Khalifa often equips his songs with recordings of his personal laugh. He also mentions in many of his songs the Taylor Gang Records he founded , the name of which has its origin in the fact that he and his friends were students at Taylor Allderdice High School in Pittsburgh.
