Mac & Devin Go to High School is an album by rappers Wiz Khalifa and Snoop Dogg , and the album also provides the soundtrack to the film of the same name , which was released on July 3, 2012.

Snoop Dogg first made his plans to make a film public in January 2011. He also announced that he would be recording a soundtrack for this film with Wiz Khalifa, in which the song That Good was to become the lead single. The film was originally due to be released on April 20, 2011 via direct-to-video .

The album debuted at number 29 on the Billboard 200 after its release with 40,000 units sold . As of December 25th, 59,000 CDs had been sold.

The first single was the song Young, Wild & Free released on October 11, 2011 , with pop singer Bruno Mars as a guest musician. After selling around 159,000 times in the first week, it debuted at number ten on the Billboard Hot 100 . The song also made it into the charts in Switzerland and the United Kingdom . A music video for the single was also shot on October 19.

The album got average reviews. In the summary of some reviews published by Metacritic , the album reached around 68% in the Metascore . The The AV Club magazine rated the album with B + and wrote that Cheech and Chong , who were making a similar film a few years ago, could take on the album an example. Hip Hop DX wrote that the soundtrack is surprisingly pleasant to listen to, but there are exceptions to this. Website DJ Booth mentioned in their review not to think too much about the album, but it was better than expected.
