Camillo Cortellini
Camillo Cortellini called Il Violino , (born January 24, 1561 in Bologna , † February 1630 ibid) was an Italian composer , conductor , instrumentalist and singer in the transition from the Renaissance to the Baroque .
Live and act
Camillo Cortellini received his first music lessons from his father Caspare Cortellini (called Il Viola ). He was a respected musician and played for many years as a trombonist and horn player in the Orchestra della Signoria di Bologna and in the Concerto Palatino . Camillo Cortellini then studied composition, singing and trombone with Alfonso Ganassi and in 1577, at the request of his father, also became a musician in the orchestra of the Senate - which, according to reports from Adriano Bianchieri, he led from 1613 until his death - and played the second soprano cornet in the concerto Palatino. In addition, Cortellini was from 1585 to 1629 in a row Kapellmeister ( Maestro di Cappella ), singer and trombonist at the Cathedral of Bologna and also worked as a singer and trombonist in the chapel of the Basilica of San Petronio . From around 1614 he was also Kapellmeister at the Chiesa di Santa Maria and in the last years of his life a member of the Accademia dei Filomusi , from which the Accademia Filarmonica later emerged.
