Caminata ( Piacentine Caminà ) is a fraction of the Italian municipality ( comune ) Alta Val Tidone in the province of Piacenza , Emilia-Romagna region .
geography
The place is about 35 kilometers west-southwest of Piacenza at an altitude of 364 m slm on the orographic left side of the valley of the same name in the northern Apennines through which the Torrente Tidone flows , not far from the border with the province of Pavia in Lombardy .
history
Caminata was an independent municipality until 2017 and merged with the neighboring municipalities of Nibbiano and Pecorara on January 1, 2018 to form the new municipality of Alta Val Tidone. The districts of Costiola, Cavaione, Moncasacco and Sarola also belonged to the municipality of Caminata.
