Pecorara (piazentine Pügrèra ) is a fraction of the Italian commune ( comune ) Alta Val Tidone in the province of Piacenza , Emilia-Romagna region .
geography
The village is located about 32 kilometers southwest of Piacenza at an altitude of 481 m slm south of the Tidone traversed the valley of the same name in the northern Apennines .
history
The district of Cicogni was first mentioned in a document in 833 . Pecorara was an independent municipality until 2017 and merged with the neighboring municipalities of Caminata and Nibbiano on January 1, 2018 to form the new municipality of Alta Val Tidone. The districts of Brevì, Busseto, Caprile, Cicogni, Cognoli, Corneto, Costalta, Geneprino, Lazzarello, Marzonago, Montemartino, Morasco, Poggio Moresco, Praticchia, Roncaglie, Sevizzano and Vallerenzo also belonged to the municipality of Pecorara. The municipality belonged to the Unione dei Comuni Valle del Tidone and bordered directly on the province of Pavia .
