Camp is an American dramedy - television series by Liz Helden. The series was produced in 2013 by BermanBraun, Matchbox Pictures, Selfish Mermaid and Universal Television for the US broadcaster NBC . The series revolves around Camp Little Otter , which is run by Mackenzie Granger. The camp is the scene of numerous escapades by campers and carers. It first aired in the United States from July to August 2013 on NBC following America's Got Talent .

The newly divorced Mackenzie Granger runs Camp Little Otter . After the breakdown of her marriage, she wants to bring the run-down camp back into shape. But she got competition from another camp, which is led by Roger Shepard, an affair of Mackenzie, of all people. Her son Buzz Granger is also at a crossroads. He really wants to lose his virginity this summer. Other employees at the camp are Sarah and Robbie, who are a couple every summer. Robbie is hoping for good times again, but Sarah has fallen in love with a writer who has rented a house on the opposite side of the camp.

Production and broadcast

On January 6, 2013 NBC announced the order for the 10-part series. Liz Heldens and Peter Elkoff acted as producers, who also developed the series. The summer 2013 was named as the start date. In February 2013, Thom Green was the first to receive a leading role on the series. He was followed a few days later by Rachel Griffiths , Tim Pocock and Dena Kaplan in other leading roles. Production started in March 2013 in Australia .

The series aired on the station from July 10 to September 11, 2013. The first episode reached exactly five million viewers, which fell to 3.41 million over the next few weeks. After a season, the series was discontinued.
