Candan Erçetin
Candan Erçetin [ 'dʒandan' ertʃetin] (* 10. February 1963 in Kırklareli ) is a Turkish singer of pop music .

Candan Erçetin grew up in her native Kırklareli as the child of Albanians from Skopje and Pristina who emigrated to Turkey , and attended elementary school in Kırklareli. Then she attended the Galatasaray High School and from 1979 the İstanbul State Conservatory (İstanbul Belediye Conservatuarı). After finishing school, she enrolled in the Classical Archeology course at İstanbul University.
Career
As a member of the music group Klips ve Onlar represented Erçetin with Melih Kibar -Komposition Halley the Turkey at Euro Vision Song Contest 1986 .
In 1991 she completed her vocal training (classical opera) at the İstanbul Municipal Music School.
In the 90s she presented various TV shows. In June 1995 she released her first solo album Hazırım . The album combined elements from her native region of Eastern Thrace with elements from the Albanian part of her parents' home country Macedonia . Her remaining albums were also always influenced by Albanian and Thracian.
The singer celebrated her greatest success with the album Elbette from 2000. With 1,050,000 units sold, it was the best-selling album of the year in Turkey.
In Germany she performed in Bremen in 1998 and in Frankfurt am Main in 1999 . In 2005 she played a role in the musical Yıldızların Altında . She also teaches at Galatasaray High School .
Club functionary career
As a graduate of Galatasaray High School, she enjoyed the privilege of becoming a member of Galatasaray Istanbul Sports Club . In the summer of 2013 she was in the cabinet of the incumbent Galatasaray President Ünal Aysal in the election of the club president . After Aysal's successful re-election, Erçetin was appointed one of two presidential assistants.
