Caniapiscau is a regional county municipality ( French municipalité régionale de comté, MRC ) in the Canadian province of Québec .
It is located in the administrative region of Côte-Nord and consists of six subordinate administrative units (two cities and four unincorporated areas). The MRC was founded on January 1, 1982. The main town is Fermont . The population is 2904 and the area 79,253.60 km², which corresponds to a population density of 0.04 inhabitants per km².
