The Canut (also: Canut Sud ) is a river in France that runs in the Ille-et-Vilaine department in the Brittany region . It rises under the name Ruisseau de la Thébaudais in the municipality of Saint-Ganton , first drains to the north, turns to the west or southwest at Pipriac and flows after 24 kilometers at the municipal boundary of Renac and Sainte-Marie , north of Redon , as Right tributary into a former loop of the Vilaine , which was straightened in the course of the canalization.
