Capellades is a small Catalan industrial city in the province of Barcelona in northeastern Spain . It is located in the Comarca Anoia on the Anoia River .

In the city there is the archaeological site Abric Romaní , known for the finds of pieces of wood worked by Neanderthals around 55,000 years ago, which allow an insight into the way in which the Neanderthals worked wood.

The paper mill museum documents the history of pre-industrial paper production in Capellades . To this day, paper is still produced in the former paper mill using the same old tools and processes from the time before industrialization. The basement of the mill houses an exhibition on the manufacture of paper, a significant inventory of machines, equipment and documents, and a study center on paper and paper mills in Catalonia.
