Psalm 126
The 126th psalm is a biblical psalm from the fifth book of the psalter .
Like all psalms from number 120 to 134, it is called a pilgrimage song in the first verse . The Hebrew word translated in this way probably indicates the steps that lead up to the temple . These psalms were probably sung on the pilgrimage to Jerusalem .
content
The psalm looks back at the homecoming from exile in Babylon . This miracle of the Lord is recognized as such even among the pagan peoples. This view is confirmed by the people of God in gratitude. Looking back on this act of deliverance of God, the psalmist asks once again that God should intervene in a difficult time.
