Psalm 116

The 116th psalm is a biblical psalm from the fifth book of the psalter .

content

In Psalm 116 the psalmist thanks God in front of the congregation for salvation from a life-threatening emergency. He made a vow to the Lord , which he is now fulfilling. Apparently, this vow concerns the described thank offering itself.

Division in the Septuagint

According to the Greek count, which is used by the Vulgate in addition to the Septuagint , the psalm is divided into two individual psalms. According to Greek counting, verses 1-9 form the 114th Psalm and verses 10-19 the 115th Psalm.
