The 27th psalm (according to Greek counting the 26th) is a psalm of David .
structure
The psalm can be divided into two parts:
- Verses 1-6 express an attitude of trust in the face of hardship and persecution;
- Verses 7-14 turn to God with requests for salvation and salvation.
It is believed by some scholars that verses 1-6 and 7-14 were originally two separate psalms.
Dating
The content shows that the author was persecuted by enemies ( Ps 27.2–3 EU ), was excluded from the house of the Lord ( Ps 27.4 EU ), was about to part from father and mother ( Ps 27.10 EU ), and suffered from slander ( Ps 27.12 EU ).
These references are particularly suitable for the period of David’s life when he fled from King Saul to the Haret forest (cf. 1 Sam 21 EU and 1 Sam 22 : 1-5 EU , see also Doeg ).
