The 40th Psalm (according to Greek counting the 39th) is a psalm of David from the first book of the Psalter .

genus

The first part of the psalm (verses 1-11) belongs to the series of thanksgiving psalms for an individual. Verses 13-18 may originally have been a separate psalm because it is practically identical to Psalm 70 . This part belongs more to the group of lamenting psalms.
