Psalm 60

The 60th psalm is a psalm of David and is part of the liturgy .

structure

The psalm can be broken down as follows:

  • Verse 1f .: heading
  • Verses 3–7: God has rejected:
    • Verses 3-5: Lament
    • Verse 6f .: trust and request
  • Verses 8-11: God has spoken
  • Verses 12-14: God has rejected:
    • Verse 12: Lament
    • Verse 13f .: Please and trust

Dating

The psalm is classified differently in the exilic time, post-exilic time or differentiated according to parts in both.
