content

The psalmist brings his need before God after he has been accused of innocence. Verses 6-19 should be understood as a citation of the charges against him and less as a curse on his persecutors.

Liturgy of the Hours

Because of its offensive nature as a curse psalm , this psalm as well as Psalms 58 and 83 and individual other verses were deleted from the Catholic Church's Liturgy of the Hours in 1970 .
