The Capones are a band from Munich and the surrounding area, which was originally founded in 2003 as a ska band. Over the years the musical repertoire has been expanded to include disco , funk , reggae , hip-hop and Latin . Since 2010 the band has also appeared under the short form Cap1s or capONEs and electronic sounds gained influence. The hallmarks of the band include the mostly polyphonic and multilingual singing, the catchy brass lines and the danceable rhythms. The band is regularly accompanied live by the Munich rap artists Roger Rekless and Boshi San .

history

The band's 2004 debut album was Rhythm Elixir , which features five studio and six live tracks. Mistico Capital , released two years later, is a pure studio album and it shows considerably more musical influences such as reggae or Latino rhythms than its predecessor. With ONE , the band presented their third album in 2010 and dressed the band-typical sound in a garment of “pink neon and bright flashlights”.

On July 23, 2011 the band performed for the last time for the time being. The farewell concert took place in the Muffathalle in Munich . 50% of the proceeds from CD and poster sales were donated to Sternstunden Day for East Africa, and the concert itself was free of charge. The main reason for the break were longer stays abroad by several band members, so that it was impossible to continue.

In 2017 the Capones reunited and have given several comeback concerts since then. The band is now back on tour with six.
