Car Trim is a German automotive supplier based in Plauen . The company was taken over by the Prevent Group at the end of April 2016 .
Car Trim has locations in Plauen , Wolfsburg , Kraslice , Nymburk , Weida , Oberlungwitz , Stendal and Žepče and produces leather, seats and seat covers made of textile or leather for various medium and luxury vehicles. Of the 1,800 employees, 1,400 work in the Bosnian Žepče, where a new plant was opened in 2014 under the direction of Thorsten Vogt, the then director and managing director of Car Trim Plauen.
In August 2016, the company was involved in a dispute between the Prevent Group and Volkswagen AG . Because VW had canceled an order for 500 million euros at short notice, Car Trim demanded 56 million euros in damages and stopped delivering seat covers to the VW subsidiary Sitech . As a result, there were production stoppages at VW.
