Caren Sonn

Caren Sonn , née Jung , (born January 18, 1968 in Ulm ) is a former German athlete. She was twice German champion over the 100 meter hurdles and in the hall six times German champion over the 60 meter hurdles.

Life

After her school days and various injuries, Caren Jung only came to the top of Germany at the age of 22. In 1990 she became the indoor champion for the first time. She started for TK Grevenbroich , but then moved to MTG Mannheim . Further titles in the hall followed in 1994 , 1995 , 1997 , 1998 and 2000 , initially under her maiden name, then after the wedding with the high jumper Ralf Sonn as Caren Sonn. In the open air she was twice German champion in 1995 and 1998 .

Sonn participated in the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona, ​​in 1995 in the World Championships in Gothenburg and in 1998 in the European Championships in Budapest. At the European Indoor Championships in 1990 she was fifth and in 1996 and 1998 she was sixth. At the 1998 World Cup in Johannesburg, she was able to achieve fifth place.

In August 2000, Sonn resigned from competitive sports. The graphic designer founded an advertising agency in Mannheim .
