About the ensemble

The Carinthia Saxophone Quartet has been enlivening Carinthia's cultural life since 1988 ( Carinthian Summer , Millstatt Music Weeks , St. Pauler Kultursommer , Wiener Konzerthaus ...) and over the years has repeatedly acted as cultural ambassadors abroad - for example in 1997 with an America tour in Las Vegas, New York, Washington and Chicago to present contemporary Austrian music for classical saxophone quartet, in 2005 at the Canberra International Chamber Music Festival, where the program also included arrangements of Carinthian songs, or in collaboration with the “Teatro Potlach” or the “ Odin Teatret ” in Italy , Great Britain and Denmark. The quartet's repertoire focuses on maintaining the original French literature for saxophone quartet, premieres of contemporary compositions - mainly by Austrian composers - as well as arrangements of music from different epochs and styles.
