The Carl A. Wuppesahl was a sea ​​rescue boat (SRB) of the 9-meter class of the German Society for the Rescue of Shipwrecked People (DGzRS).

The Carl A. Wuppesahl , known internally as KRST 26 by the DGzRS, was built in 1977 by the Schweers shipyard in Bardenfleth under construction number 6435 and was christened on August 18, 1977 in Bremen in the name of Carl Wuppesahl , a sponsor of the DGzRS.

Technical Equipment

The lifeboat was equipped with radio systems, echo sounder, radar , GPS , external bilge pump and a rescue port.

Stationings

From 1977 to 1984 the boat was stationed in Fedderwardersiel . After a short break, it was stationed in Eckernförde from 1985 until it was decommissioned on June 28, 2004 , where it was replaced by Eckernförde .

After an overhaul of the boat, it was end of April 2005 sea rescue Namibia - issued (Sea Rescue Institute of Namibia SRIN); As a gesture of thanks for the DGzRS donation, the boat kept its name. The Carl A. Wuppesahl is stationed in Walvis Bay .
