Carl Bengtström (born January 13, 2000 ) is a Swedish sprinter and hurdler who specializes in the 400-meter distance.

Athletic career

Carl Bengtström gained his first international experience in 2016 when he retired from the first round of the European Youth Championships in Tbilisi in the 400-meter run with 49.22 seconds and with the Swedish sprint relay (1000 meters) in 1: 56.29 min took seventh place. The following year he reached the semi-finals at the U20 European Championships in Grosseto over 400 meters and was eliminated there with 48.08 seconds. In 2018 he took part in the 400-meter hurdles at the U20 World Championships in Tampere , where he was eliminated in the semifinals with 51.55 seconds. He then took part with the Swedish 4 x 400 meter relay at the European Championships in Berlin , but was disqualified in the run-up. The following year he retired at the European Indoor Championships in Glasgow over 400 meters with 49.50 s in the first round and then won the hurdles in 50.32 s at the U20 European Championships in Borås, home .

In 2019 Bengtström was the Swedish champion in the 400-meter hurdles and in 2018 and 2019 indoor champion over 400 meters and 2020 in the 200-meter run .
