Carl Christian Nieffer

Carl Christian Nieffer (* 1787 ; † December 5, 1871 ) was a German architect and Württemberg construction clerk . He is regarded as a representative of the camera office style in Württemberg. From 1837 he worked in Ludwigsburg .

Life

As a lake farmer, also known as the “manorial sea stock”, his father supplied the royal court kitchen with up to nine species of fish. Carl Christian Nieffer was trained as a master builder under the head of the palace construction workshops and court architect Nikolaus Friedrich von Thouret . Under his construction management u. a. a festival hall on the grounds of Monrepos Castle in Ludwigsburg , which was later closed.

When Nieffer's wife Regina Nieffer, née Roller, died in Balingen in 1829 at the age of 41 and a cast-iron cross made in the Biedermeier style was erected on his behalf, three of their eight children had survived their mother's death. A son named Jeremias Nieffer is documented by his marriage to Cresenzia Nieffer nee Mueller. During this time he lived with his family on Froschgasse in Balingen.

His second wife, who came from Stuttgart , gave birth to another son. From 1837, Nieffer lived with his family in Ludwigsburg.
