Carl Friedrich Heintz
Carl Friedrich Heintz , from 1848 Knight von Heintz (born April 4, 1802 in Kleeburg / Lower Alsace , † August 16, 1868 in Munich ), was President of the Chamber of Deputies and Royal Bavarian State Minister of Justice.
Live and act
The son of the pastor and historian Philipp Casimir Heintz attended grammar school in Zweibrücken and, from 1819, the Lyceum in Munich, which he graduated with honors in autumn 1820. He studied until 1823 in Heidelberg and Erlangen law and was in 1825 the state bankruptcy "with distinction". During his studies in 1821 he became a member of the Arminia Erlangen fraternity , which later became the Bubenreuth fraternity . From 1826 he was a lawyer in Zweibrücken and entered a civil service career in 1831 as a state procurator's substitute. In 1833 he became 2nd, in 1838 1st state procurator and in 1839 appellant judge at the court of appeal of the Palatinate in Zweibrücken. From March 1849 to 1866 he was Vice President of the Higher Appeal Court in Munich, from October 1866 until his death he was its President.
From 1845 to 1848, Heintz was a member of the fifth class (Palatinate district) of the Chamber of Deputies of the Bavarian Estates Assembly . In the March Revolution he was President of the Chamber from March 17-25, 1848. He resigned his mandate when he was appointed Bavarian State Minister of Justice on March 25, 1848. In April 1848, Heintz was appointed imperial councilor for life by King Maximilian II , and in December 1848 he was raised to the personal nobility. The left-liberal Heintz submitted his resignation as minister in the spring of 1849 because he could not identify with conservative tendencies in the king's politics. On March 5, 1849 he was removed from office and at the same time appointed to the extraordinary state council. After that, Heintz only had the stage of the Chamber of Imperial Councils available for his political activities, but in which he remained an outsider.
The Protestant pastor and social reformer Hieronymus Hofer was his brother-in-law.
