Carl Friedrich Voigt (lawyer)

Carl Friedrich Voigt (born August 22, 1760 (or 1750) in Bützow (or Güstrow), † March 1822 in Greifswald ) was a German lawyer and university professor.

Life

Carl Friedrich Voigt studied after attending education from 1778 to 1783 at the universities of Bützow (with Eobald Toze ) and Greifswald . From 1784 to 1789 he was a private lecturer in Bützow. In 1794 he defended his inaugural dissertation in Rostock under Martini . Then he became councilor in Greifswald. In 1799 Voigt became an adjunct at the Greifswald Faculty of Law and received his doctorate in Rostock a year later. In 1803 he was appointed full professor of law and at the same time assessor of the Greifswald consistory in Greifswald . From 1814 he was director of the consistory.

In 1811 and 1819 Voigt was elected rector of Greifswald University.
