Carl Gustav von Wolffradt (General)

Carl Gustav von Wolffradt , also Carl Gustaf Wulfrath , (* 1672 in Lüssow ; † 1741 ibid) was a cavalry general in the Swedish service and fortress commander of Stralsund .

Life

Carl Gustav von Wolffradt was a member of the von Wolffradt noble family . He was the fourth son of the Swedish-Pomeranian government councilor Hermann von Wolffradt and Christine Rehnskiöld. He entered the Swedish military service and in 1699 was a captain in the Rehnskiöldschen Dragoons . In 1704 he became a major in the Pomeranian Cavalry Regiment , in which he was later promoted to lieutenant colonel and in 1712 to colonel . In the same year he took part in the battle of Gadebusch with the Westgiötha Cavalry . In 1713 he was promoted to major general. He was promoted to Lieutenant General and Commander of Stralsund Fortress in 1723.

family

Carl Gustav von Wolffradt was married twice. The first marriage with Magdalena Sibilla von Eickstedt , widowed von der Osten , had three daughters and four sons. The second marriage to Adelheid Tugendreich von Arnim , widowed von Bonin , had five sons. Among them was the later Prussian general of the cavalry Erich Magnus von Wolffradt (1735–1799).

possession

In 1706 the property inherited from the father was divided between Carl Gustav and his three older brothers. He received Lüssow and the shares in Ranzin and Schlatkow . After the last of his brothers, Behrend Christoph, died in 1732, the entire family property was united in his hands. After his death, the three surviving sons from his first marriage received the pledged Gut Schmatzin, the five from his second marriage Lüssow, the pledged Gut Owstin and the share in Polzin .
