Carl Olof Petersen
Carl Olof Petersen (born September 19, 1881 in Malmö ; † October 18, 1939 in Ulricehamn ) was a Swedish artist , illustrator and graphic designer who worked in Munich and Dachau .
life and work

In 1903 Carl Olof Petersen moved from Sweden to Dachau. He lived for a long time in the district of Moosschwaige. He was a student of Adolf Hölzel and became a member of the Dachau artists' colony . He was married to the non-fiction author Elly Petersen (Ella Hirschfeld-Leßer) from Berlin . Petersen illustrated numerous children's books and drew for the weekly Jugend and the satirical magazine Simplicissimus . He also created advertising posters and postcards, many with Munich motifs and signed with the abbreviation OST. In 1937 he returned to Sweden with his wife because of his poor health.
