Carl Philipp Schilling
Carl Philipp Schilling (* 1855 in Uelversheim , † 1924 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) was a German church painter of historicism .
At the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century, Schilling furnished numerous churches, especially in southwest Germany, with wall paintings . He also worked with sculptors such as Joseph Dettlinger on the restoration and addition of existing paintings . From 1888 he lived and worked in Freiburg. With his nephew, the painter Franz Schilling (1879–1964), he worked together on various projects.
