Carl Russel (born January 15, 1870 in Recklinghausen ; † January 4, 1950 in Bad Godesberg ) was Lord Mayor of the city ​​of Buer (today Gelsenkirchen-Buer ).

Life

After graduating from high school, Carl Russel studied law in Munich , Strasbourg and Berlin . After the second state examination in law, he became a public prosecutor and later a district syndic of the Recklinghausen district . He held this office from June 1, 1905 to March 31, 1912. His election as mayor of the city of Buer fell on February 14, 1912. He was introduced to his office on April 2, 1912. By ministerial decree, he held the title of Lord Mayor from April 3, 1916 . After he had been elected Lord Mayor of the city of Koblenz, he could not take up his post here until August 1, 1925, because he had received an expulsion order from the Inter-Allied Rhineland Commission . On July 31, 1931, Russell retired. He was a member of the Westphalian Provincial Parliament and belonged to the center .
