Carl Slevogt (politician)

Carl Slevogt (born April 25, 1845 in Eisenach , † September 13, 1922 in Weimar ) was a lawyer and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Slevogt attended high school in Eisenach and studied from 1864 to 1867 in Jena and Leipzig law . In 1864 he became a member of the Germania Jena fraternity . He passed the first Weimar state examination in 1868 and the second in 1869. Slevogt joined the reserve battalion of the 5th Thuringian Infantry Regiment No. 94 (Grand Duke of Saxony) as a volunteer during the mobilization in 1870. After a few weeks he was transferred to the mobile regiment and wounded on December 2, 1870 near Poupry . After his recovery at the end of 1871, he resigned from the civil service and was employed as an assessor at the Grand Ducal Saxon Justice Office in Ostheim in front of the Rhön in March 1872 . In 1873 he was transferred to the district court in Sondershausen . In 1879 he was appointed to the government and in 1908 to the state council. He wrote various treatises, including a. The banknote law of the Reichsbank , Leipzig 1876, and worked on Hirths Annalen (annual reports on banking and money transactions).

From 1877 to 1878 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency of the Grand Duchy of Saxony-Weimar-Eisenach 3 (Neustadt, Jena) and the National Liberal Party .
