Poupry is a French commune of 112 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Eure-et-Loir in the region Center-Val de Loire ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Châteaudun and the canton of Voves (until 2015: canton of Orgères-en-Beauce ).

Poupry is about 17 kilometers north-northwest of Orléans . Poupry is surrounded by neighboring communities Baigneaux in the north, Dambron in the east and northeast, Artenay in the south and southeast, Sougy in the south and Lumeau in the west.

The A10 autoroute runs through the east of the municipality .

history

On December 2, 1870, the battle of Loigny and Poupry took place here during the Franco-German War of 1870/1871 . Despite the outnumbered French troops, the German troops managed to knock out an arduous victory.
