Loigny-la-Bataille is located about 20 kilometers north-north-west of Orléans . Loigny-la-Bataille is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Fontenay-sur-Conie in the north and north-west, Eole-en-Beauce in the north, Tillay-le-Péneux in the east and north-east, Lumeau in the east and south-east, Terminiers in the south, and Guillonville in the south-west and Orgères-en-Beauce to the west and north-west.

history

On December 2, 1870, the battle of Loigny and Poupry took place here during the Franco-German War of 1870/1871 . Despite the outnumbered French troops, the German troops managed to knock out an arduous victory.
