Lumeau is a French municipality with 149 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the Eure-et-Loir in the region Center-Val de Loire ( Beauce and Orléanais Province); it belongs to the arrondissement of Châteaudun and the canton of Voves .

geography

Lumeau is about 25 kilometers north-northwest of Orléans . Lumeau is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Tillay-le-Péneux , Bazoches-les-Hautes and Baigneaux in the north, Poupry in the east, Terminiers in the south and Loigny-la-Bataille in the west.

history

On December 2, 1870, the Battle of Loigny and Poupry took place here during the Franco-Prussian War (Battle of Lumeau and Neuvilliers).
