Saumeray is a French municipality with 491 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the Eure-et-Loir in the region Center-Val de Loire ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Châteaudun and the canton of Châteaudun (until 2015: canton of Bonneval ). The inhabitants are called Salméridiens .

Saumeray is located about 19 kilometers north of the city center of Châteaudun on the Loir . Saumeray is surrounded by the neighboring communities Charonville in the north and north-west, Ermenonville-la-Petite in the north-east, Bouville in the east and north-east, Alluyes in the east and south-east and Dangeau in the south and west.
