Carl Teufel (* 1845 ; † 1912 ) was a German painter and photographer in Munich .
Life
Carl Teufel's photographic work consists to a large extent of original photographs, which he mainly sold to Munich painters. These recordings show landscapes, animals, teams of horses, farms, the world of work, historical architecture, but also individual acts. These photographs were mostly taken in Upper Bavaria, but also in other areas of Bavaria.
Carl Teufel was awarded the title of court photographer because of his work . His career has been passed down through his extensive works, because shortly before his death, Teufel handed over "his entire inventory of glass plates to the Riehn und Tietze publishing house ".

The following photo negatives from Carl Teufel, mainly 18 cm × 24 cm, are part of the so-called Filser archive , which came into the possession of Foto Marburg in 1935 :
- 333 photographs of Munich studios from the years 1899 to 1890; 12 photos illustrate an article by Julius Beck with the title “Münchner Ateliers” in the magazine Vom Fels zum Meer .
- around "7,000 recordings of sculptures , paintings and handicrafts from the Bavarian National Museum from 1890" and
- Around 6,000 photographic documents of miniatures and initials from manuscripts in the Munich State Library from 1899.
