Carl von der Goltz
Baron Carl von der Goltz (born March 26, 1794 in Zuchow , † July 3, 1865 in Berlin ) was a Prussian district administrator .
He came from the noble von der Goltz family , served in the Prussian army and advanced to the position of premier lieutenant. On June 29, 1830 he was sworn in as district administrator of the Schivelbein district , as the successor to Ludwig von Briesen . During his tenure, the district area was opened to traffic. The first road in the district was built from 1846 to 1848 between Schivelbein and Polzin , and in 1859 the district received a rail connection with the Stargard – Danzig line . In 1856, the Schivelbeiner Kreisblatt was founded as the first newspaper in the district , initially with the character of an official announcement body.
Von der Goltz owned the manor in Kreitzig . In 1836 he also acquired the neighboring manor in Zietlow in the Belgard district . He was married to one of Arnim's .
Carl Freiherr von der Goltz worked as district administrator until his death in 1865. He was succeeded in office by his only son, Rüdiger Freiherr von der Goltz .
