Rüdiger von der Goltz (politician, 1869)

Rüdiger Freiherr von der Goltz (born March 1, 1869 in Kreitzig , Schivelbein district , † April 22, 1945 in Posen ) was a German manor owner and district administrator .

He was a member of the noble von der Goltz family ; his father of the same name, Rüdiger Freiherr von der Goltz, was the district administrator of the Schivelbein district and later also a member of the Reichstag. After graduating from the Kaiser-Wilhelms-Gymnasium in Stettin , he studied law at the University of Lausanne and at the Friedrich-Wilhelms-University in Berlin . After serving as a one-year volunteer , he entered the Prussian civil service.

From 1902 to 1911 he was district administrator of the Kolberg-Körlin district . From 1911, after the death of his father, he managed his inherited estates Kreitzig , Zietlow and Langhof . In 1911 he became a member of the Pomeranian Provincial Parliament , to which he belonged until 1920 with a brief interruption (1918); He was chairman of the 49th Provincial Parliament, which met from April 28 to 30, 1920.

During the First World War , he initially served as a catering officer in the 2nd Guards Regiment on foot . After the district administrator of the Schivelbein district, Nikolaus Graf von Baudissin , died in April 1917 , Rüdiger Freiherr von der Goltz was appointed acting district administrator. He held this office until April 1919.

Rüdiger Freiherr von der Goltz was married to Emma Viktoria von Derenthall (* 1880, † 1960), a daughter of the Prussian diplomat Eduard von Derenthall . The marriage resulted in a son and two daughters.

After Kreitzig was captured by the Red Army on March 3, 1945, Rüdiger Freiherr von der Goltz was deported to Posen , where he died in a camp on April 22, 1945 at the age of 76.
