Johann George Friedrich von Leckow

Johann George Friedrich von Leckow , also von Lekow , (born November 22, 1746 in Lekow , † March 7, 1823 in Lekow ) was a Prussian district administrator . From 1779 to 1808 he was in charge of the Schivelbein district in Neumark .

He came from the noble von Leckow family . His father Christian Reinhard von Leckow (1705–1777) was the heir to Lekow, Kunow and Teschenbusch. His mother Charlotte was born Rieter. His uncle Joachim Friedrich von Leckow (1703–1774) rose in the Prussian army to major general.

He attended the Szczecin Council School from 1763 to 1766 , then the Szczecin Academic Gymnasium until 1768 . He then studied at the University of Halle until 1770 .

He entered the Prussian civil service, where he worked as a trainee lawyer at the Kurmärkischen War and Domain Chamber from 1771 . In 1775 he passed the major exam, but remained a trainee lawyer.

After the death of District Administrator George Heinrich von Blanckenburg in 1779, he was elected as the new District Administrator of the Schivelbein district; the Schivelbein district then belonged to Neumark . He held the office until 1808. His successor was Ludwig von Briesen .

His first marriage since 1778 was Modeste Ernestine, born in von Blanckenburg . After her death in 1786 he married Caroline Louise, nee von Falkenhayn, for the second time . He died in 1823 and left no children.
