Paul Schuelke (born November 16, 1873 in Thorn , † October 30, 1954 in Hamburg ) was the last district administrator in the Schivelbein district .

Life

Schuelke had not studied and rose from the middle administrative service. In 1907 he became mayor of Lobsens in the province of West Prussia . In 1919 he became district administrator of the Schivelbein district in the province of Pomerania . Schuelke tried to maintain the independence of the district, the smallest in the province of Pomerania. To this end, he suggested expanding the circle to include Bad Polzin . Ultimately, however, the district was dissolved on October 1, 1932 and most of its area was added to the Belgard district; Schuelke was put into temporary retirement.

Schuelke stayed in Schivelbein, where he now worked as a bankruptcy administrator and settlement administrator. After the occupation of Western Pomerania by the Red Army , he was briefly appointed mayor by the Soviet authorities in March 1945, but was replaced by the Polish administration in April 1945 and later, like the rest of Schivelbein's population, expelled by the Polish state.
