Carlo Censi

Carlo Censi (born October 22, 1872 in Breganzona , † October 27, 1958 in Lugano ) was a Swiss politician ( FDP ).

Life

Carlo Censi, son of Emilio from Lamone , began studying law at the University of Lausanne after attending grammar school and lyceum in Lugano , which he completed in 1896. In 1899 he was admitted to the bar and notary and from 1890 to 1934 he was on the district committee of the liberal-radical party. He was a member of the municipal and city council of Lugano, where he particularly campaigned for the city to purchase Villa Ciani (1912).

From 1921 to 1934 he sat in the Ticino Grand Council and from 1926 to 1931 in the National Council . He worked as a substitute judge at the court of appeal , sat on several boards of directors (including that of the Teatro Casinò Kursaal AG) and was president of the Ticino Touring Club .
