Igor Georgievich Neiswestny

Igor Georgijewitsch Neiswestny ( Russian Игорь Георгиевич Неизвестный ; born November 26, 1931 in Odessa ) is a Ukrainian - Russian physicist and university professor .

Life

Neiswestny's maternal grandfather was the astronomer Alexander Yakovlevich Orlov . Neiswestny studied at the Faculty of Electromechanics of the Moscow Energy Institute , graduating in 1956, specializing in dielectrics and semiconductors . He then worked as a research assistant at the Moscow Lebedev Institute for Physics (FIAN) of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (AN-SSSR, from 1991 Russian Academy of Sciences (RAN)) under Anatoly Vasilyevich Rschanow .

1962 Neizvestny went with Rzhanov in the new-led Rzhanov Institute for Solid State Physics in Novosibirsk Akademgorodok , in 1964 with the Institute of Radio Physics , the semiconductor Institute of the Siberian was Department (SO) of the AN SSSR with Rzhanov as director. In 1966 Neiswestny received his doctorate with his dissertation on the nature of the recombination centers of charge carriers on germanium surfaces as a candidate in the physical-mathematical sciences . 1973–1980 he headed the Laboratory for Physics and Technology of Germanium- Metal-Dielectric-Semiconductor Structures . He investigated the physical processes at the semiconductor-dielectric interfaces and the interaction of radiation with semiconductor heterostructures . He led the computer simulation of the formation of thin surface layers . The focus of work was also quantum cryptography and surface barrier layer biosensors . With his dissertation on germanium-dielectric interfaces, he received a doctorate in physical-mathematical sciences in 1980 . In 1990 he was elected a corresponding member of the AN-SSSR. From 2004 he headed the department for thin film structures for microelectronics and photoelectronics .

Neiswestny taught at the Novosibirsk State Technical University at the Chair for Semiconductor Devices and Microelectronics, where he was appointed professor in 1983. 1988-2010 he headed the chair. In 2010 he was elected honorary professor of the Odessa University .

• State Prize of the Russian Federation for Science and Technology for the discovery and experimental and theoretical study of a new class of photosensitive semiconductor materials (1995)
• Government Award of the Russian Federation for Education (2012)
