Carlo Dittli (born February 23, 1938 ; † December 10, 2014 in Altdorf ; resident in Göschenen ) was a Swiss politician ( FDP ). From 1980 to 1996 he was a member of the government council of the canton of Uri , which he chaired from 1988 to 1990 as mayor .

biography

Dittli worked as a postal worker in his home Göschenen, where he also the mayor was elected. In 1976 he was elected a member of the Uri District Administrator and belonged to it until 1980. During this time he also served as the vice-president of the canton's education council.

After the death of Raymund Gamma , Dittli was elected to the government council on September 28, 1980. He was a member of the Uri cantonal government for 16 years until 1996. During this time he was the head of the finance department. In this function he was largely involved in the repair of the major storm damage in 1987.

On June 1, 1988, he succeeded Hans Zurfluh as Landammann and thus Chairman of the Government Council. He held this position for two years until May 31, 1990 and was then replaced by Ambros Gisler .

After leaving the government council, Dittli was, among other things, chairman of the board of directors of Furka-Oberalp-Bahn and Andermatt Gotthard Sportbahnen AG, as well as vice- chairman of the bank council of Urner Kantonalbank .
