Carlo Galli da Bibiena

Carlo Ignazio Galli da Bibiena (* 1728 in Vienna , † 1787 in Florence ) was an Italian decorative and theater painter of the late Baroque .

Carlo was born in Vienna as the son of Giuseppe Galli da Bibiena (1696–1757). In 1746 the Margrave Friedrich III appointed him . to Bayreuth , where he and his father Giuseppe designed the interior of the newly built theater . For the operas by Wilhelmine von Bayreuth he created sets, e.g. B. for L'Huomo 1754. From 1753 Carlo Galli was employed as a theater decorator in Munich . He also worked in many other European baroque theaters in Berlin , Braunschweig , France , Holland , London , Naples , Rome and Saint Petersburg .
