Life
From 1666 to 1673 he worked at the Dresden court, from 1674 to 1685 at the Ospedale degli Incurabili (a conservatory where orphans were trained musically) in Venice , then again in Dresden. In August and September 1687 he was in Venice with concertmaster Georg Gottfried Backstroh. He requested an extension of his leave because his wife was expecting her delivery, but this was refused. His grave is in the St. Marienstern Monastery .
He created more than 20 operas, which premiered in Venice and Dresden, as well as an oratorio and sacred works. From 1674 to 1686 he worked with the Venetian librettist Matteo Noris and set nine of his opera texts to music. In 1678 the influential Venetian family Grimani chose a work by Pallavicino - Vespasiano - for the opening performance of their new Teatro di S. Giovanni Grisostomo in Venice. At least eleven other world premieres by the composer took place in this house by 1687.
His son, the Dresden court poet Stefano Pallavicini was a well-known librettist .
