Carlos G. Henriquez (* 1979 in New York City ) is an American jazz musician ( double bass ), stylistically assigned to the subgenres Latin Jazz and Neobop .

Live and act

Henriquez first learned to play classical guitar in junior high school, then he studied double bass in the Juilliard School's Music Advancement Program . He then studied at the LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts, where he played in the LaGuardia Concert Jazz Ensemble in 1996/97 . In the following years he worked with musicians such as George Benson , Danilo Perez , Gonzalo Rubalcaba , Wynton Marsalis , Steve Turre , Eddie Palmieri , Tito Puente , Carlos Santana and Victor Goines . In 1998 he toured the United States, Canada and Japan with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, then Europe and South America.

He continued to play with Marsalis in the 2000/2010s, and on December 30th and 31st, 2006 , Henriquez appeared on an aftershow for Prince as a musical guest. In 2015 he recorded his debut album The Bronx Pyramid (Blue Engine). In the field of jazz, he was involved in 45 recording sessions between 1998 and 2018, in addition to the aforementioned with Marcus Printup , Paquito D'Rivera , Ted Nash , Elliot Mason and Jonathan Batiste ( Hollywood Africans , 2018).
